Established in the late 1800s with a small menagerie of animals, this eleven-acre habitat officially became the Prospect Park Zoo when it opened to the public in 1935, and has grown to be home to almost 400 animals comprising 82 species.
Guests can have a hoot with the owls, wander among wallabies and kangaroos and meet our mascots – a troop of Hamadryas baboons full of entertaining hijinks. While being entertained by the engaging zoo residents, you and your guests will appreciate the fine architecture such the one based on Rudyard Kipling’s the Jungle Book, and others located near the sea lion pond the Education Center.
